Fuente de la Villa y Casa de "Los Funes"
La Fuente de la Villa es uno de los manantiales más importante de las fuentes del interior de la Villa y en parte causa de la localización del núcleo urbano. Fue restaurada en 1775 cambiando sus dos caños por los tres actuales y añadiendo el gran pilar actual. Su caudal es permanente y surge del cerro en el que se encuentra, siendo canalizado por el interior de la casa posterior. El agua de la misma tradicionalmente abastecía al convento del Carmen y al de Santa Clara, además de a los vecinos; y daba nombre a la calle de enfrente, llamada del Agua, bajo la que aún discurren los rebosaderos de la fuente. La “casa de los Funes”, antigua “casa del Conde” es una de las más notables de Alcaudete. Destaca por su simetría y armonía de formas; cuenta con un patio central soportado con columnas de hierro fundido. También destaca el antepatio a modo de espacio de respeto. Hasta su reforma a principios del siglo XX contaba con una torre en el lateral derecho.
Fuente de la Villa is one of the most important springs inside the town and probably determined the current site of its urban core. It was restored in 1775, its two original spouts being then replaced by three and the water pillar added. The water flow remains stable and springs from the hill over which it is situated, the canalization being inside the house behind the fountain. Its waters traditionally supplied both El Carmen and Santa Clara’s Convents, as well as the inhabitants of the neighbourhood. The street opposite it (Calle del Agua) derives its name from the fountain, the overflows of which run under the aforementioned street. Casa de los Funes, the ancient House of the Count, is one of the most noteworthy buildings in Alcaudete. It stands out by its symmetrical and harmonic proportions, whilst sheltering a central patio surrounded by castiron columns and a forecourt used as a space of respect. Until its refurbishment at the beginning of the 20th century it had a tower in its right-hand side.
